Especially for ages 7–14, good instruction starts with understanding how your child learns. For older players, we begin with the specific gap they want to close.
Work on stance, swing movement, timing, and contact through focused reps and small, understandable adjustments.
Build the fundamentals of throwing form and accuracy. Learn how to coordinate the movement and direct the ball toward a target.
Develop the work behind the plate, from glove use to transfers and throw-downs. For older catchers, focus on the specific parts of the play that need refinement.

When a skill isn’t clicking, we pause and talk. I ask the athlete to explain it back to me, so I can hear what they understood and adjust my explanation.
We vary drills, turn practice into games, and give new movements time to settle. If a player feels overwhelmed, we return to a familiar skill for a win, then try the challenge again.
Players bring effort and a willingness to learn. I bring honest feedback, patience, and instruction that adapts to the athlete. Parents hear the cues, too, so they can reinforce them at home.

Today, I coach youth baseball and softball and help athletes build their own foundation. My experience with dyslexia gives me a personal appreciation for the fact that kids learn differently.

No. Training meets the athlete at their current skill level, from learning fundamentals to refining a specific high-school skill.
We begin with a specific concern: hitting timing, adapting to faster pitching, power, or catcher transfer and throw-down time. We use extra reps and small refinements, then discuss other areas as the initial work progresses.
